The names Otowa and Hitotsubashi probably refer to the fact that the main offices of the various companies are located in the Otowa and Hitotsubashi areas in Tokyo. The two groups have been rivals for a long time.

Launched on March 23rd, Com2 is said to be Japan's first monthly digital subscription magazine that will be distributed through mobile phones. The monthly subscription fee is 350 yen. According to Shinchosha, English and Chinese versions of the magazine were planned for the future. The magazine can also be obtained online through eBookJapan.
According to Mainichi Daily News: "In Japan, several mobile phone Web sites already offer hundreds of novels -- classics, best sellers and works written especially for the mobile phone. Shinchosha's will be the first monthly comic book which is only available online, NHK said."

On 2005 December 10th, Comic Di Gi Charat was renamed to Comi-Digi. In April 2006, Comi-Digi (petit-) was renewed once again. The new name was Comi-Digi+ (plus), and was released on April 21 2006. The color pages contained KogeDonbo's "Kon Kon Kokon." Two chapters of Galaxy Angel 3rd (a total of 72 pages and a cover page) also appeared in that issue.
